Singapore Photos Series 1: Pre-Wedding Festivities

Okay, I finally got a chance to process some of my photos!  Here is the beginning of my Singapore Photo Series, a photojournal in 6 parts.  =]  If you’re here to catch up on the Steph and Seiwei wedding, you’re in the right place (and I’ll get you there eventually)!

This is the pool at my hosts Waiyan and Larissa’s condo.  It didn’t look super-deep, but it sure looked pretty!  I stayed in the apartment nearly the entire 2nd day of my Singapore trip in order to pore through all 4000+ of the photos Steph and Seiwei provided for me to put together 2 slideshows for their wedding.  This was definitely a working vacation!  =]

For comparison, here’s the pool area at Seiwei’s condo.  It’s multi-tier and features a set of water slides too.  Sheesh, I’m jealous!  We had a pool party here to relax before the wedding, and Brian was kind enough to lend me his spare swim trunks.  I managed to keep both the trunks and my contact lenses on!  (Phew!)

This is the room in which I slept during my stay at Waiyan and Larissa’s.  I must say, I have a new appreciation for the soft comfort of the humble tatami mat!  By the way, I learned the hard way that if leave the window upon during the spontaneous downpours of rain that occur for about 15 minutes nearly every day, you are in for a very wet surprise on the floor when you return.  Oops.

This is Seiwei and Steph pressing on with the detail planning at the rehearsal dinner at Zenden Restaurant, with Su-Ling and Pearlyn, whose name I could not for the life of me visualize while I was in Singapore.  =]  I think we pretty much took over the whole restaurant.  Other than the flutist’s special someone, I don’t think I saw anyone enter the restaurant all night while we were there.  No, not even for the all-you-can-eat lamb shank!

This is the little cutie I met while in Singapore.  You will definitely be seeing more of her.  =]  Half-Russian, half-Asian.  Now THAT is cute!

Did Brian enjoy this plate of fresh fruit after all-you-can-eat lamb shank?  You be the judge.

Anyway, just wanted to give you a little preview.  We haven’t even gotten to the wedding festivities yet.  More to come!  Please leave a comment so I know someone out there actually cares.  =]

Now, move on to Singapore Photo Series 2: Bartering for the Bride!
